Getting there & parking

Reach Tinos — and the festival village — stress-free

By ferry

Tinos is served by daily ferries from Rafina (the closest port) and Piraeus. It is also connected with Mykonos, Andros and Syros.

Crossing takes roughly 2–4.5 hours depending on the vessel. Book early for the August 15 peak.

Tinos Port

Around the island

  • Car / scooter rental: the most flexible option for night-time festivals.
  • Bus (KTEL): from Chora to the villages — limited evening service.
  • Taxi: few on the island; pre-book on festival days.

Parking

  • Villages are small with narrow lanes — park at the village entrance and walk in.
  • Arrive early (before 21:00); spaces fill fast.
  • Carpool and follow directions from locals / volunteers.
Tip: Tap the map icon on any festival above for turn-by-turn directions to the village. Roads are narrow at night — drive carefully and never drink and drive.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the festivals of Tinos

When are the Tinos festivals in 2026?

The summer festivals run from late June to early September 2026, peaking in August. See the full schedule above, organised by date and village.

What time do the festivals start?

Most festivals begin in the evening, usually around 21:00 after vespers, and continue into the early morning with live music, food and dancing.

Do I need a ticket?

No. Entry to the traditional festivals is free. You only pay for food and drink, at very affordable prices offered by the local associations.

What exactly is a "panigiri"?

A panigiri is a traditional feast held in honour of a saint or a local celebration. It blends a religious service with festivity: live violin-and-lute music, dancing, local food and wine — open to everyone.

Can I add an event?

Yes. Associations and organisers can submit an event through our contact form and we'll add it to the schedule.

Festivals & island feasts on Tinos

Tinos is the island of festivals. From Pyrgos and Ysternia to Steni, Kardiani and Falatados, every village opens its squares for an authentic island feast — island instruments of violin and lute, traditional dances (balos, syrtos), local food and wine until dawn. The festivals of Tinos are organised by the local associations and open to all.

Here you'll find the full 2026 Tinos festivals schedule with every date by village. New to the panigiria? Read the complete Tinos festivals guide — what they are, when, what to eat and how to get there.
